The Importance of Research
Finding the right kayak is not simply a matter of luck. It requires careful research and consideration. Before diving into the world of kayaking, take some time to familiarize yourself with different kayak models and their features. Understanding your specific requirements will help you make an informed decision.
The Kayak Auction Experience
At UpStreamPaddle, we provide a unique opportunity to purchase top-quality kayaks through our online auctions. Our auctions feature a wide selection of kayaks, with each item sold “AS IS – WHERE IS.” While we do not offer warranties or guarantees, our team will consider refunds on a case-by-case basis if the kayak you receive is materially different from what was conveyed.
When participating in our auctions, remember to factor in the buyer’s premium. There will be a 13% buyer’s premium added to all winning bid prices, which can be reduced to 10% if you choose to pay in cash or cash equivalent. Please note that the buyer’s premium is subject to all applicable sales tax.
Inspect and Explore
To ensure customer satisfaction, we encourage potential buyers to inspect our kayaks before making a purchase. Join us for our scheduled inspection days on Monday and Tuesday, November 9th, from 8:15 am to 4:45 pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to get up close and personal with the kayaks, ensuring that they meet your expectations.
Smooth Removal Process
Once you have successfully won a kayak, you will need to schedule its removal. We have made the process as convenient as possible by providing a link to our scheduling system on your invoice. Simply choose the available pick-up time slot that suits you best. Rest assured, forklift assistance will be readily available if needed.
Avoid Abandonment and Additional Fees
To avoid any inconvenience, please remember to remove your purchased kayak by the specified date and time. Failure to do so may result in a $25 fee. Any items not picked up by the removal deadline will be considered abandoned, with no further rights accruing to you. Additionally, Roller Auctions reserves the right to resell the items with no further obligation or liability on their part.
Secure and Convenient Payment Options
We offer multiple payment methods to make your purchasing experience smooth and hassle-free. For amounts under $1,000, payment will be automatically charged to the credit card on file immediately after the auction. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we recommend contacting us for alternative payment methods that do not require in-person contact. Payments made by bank wire transfer, cashier’s checks, or cash at a Chase Bank will receive a 3% reduction off the buyer’s premium.
Re-Listing Fee and Future Auction Participation
To incentivize timely payments, please ensure that your auction purchases are paid for by the specified removal deadline. Failure to do so will result in a re-listing fee of 15% of the total bid price(s) being charged to the credit card on file. Non-payment may also result in you being excluded from participating in future auctions.
Sales Tax and Exemptions
All purchases are subject to a 4.75% sales tax unless you qualify for an exemption. Dealers re-selling similar equipment with a valid retail sales tax license and businesses with tax-exempt status may be eligible for exemptions. Please provide us with a copy of your current license to avail of this exemption. If you plan to export your purchased items, taxes will be refunded upon receipt of a dock receipt within two weeks of the auction.
Titles, Taxes, and Temporary Registration
For titled units, a $35 dealer handling fee will be added to the bid price, which is taxable. Taxes will be based on the location where the unit is being titled. If you are in the business of reselling equipment, a copy of your current resale/dealer’s license will exempt you from paying tax. Please note that titles for items paid with non-guaranteed funds will be mailed out 15 business days after payment is received. Additionally, temporary plates for vehicles purchased from us are valid for up to 60 days, with some exceptions.
Finding the perfect kayak has never been easier. With UpStreamPaddle’s online auctions, you can explore a wide range of kayaks, inspect them personally, and make an informed decision. Remember to bid responsibly, pay promptly, and enjoy the thrill of kayaking in your new vessel.
