Weighing in at 43 pounds, the Argo 100XR is slightly heavier than our beloved Mustang 100x. However, when you remove the portable seat, the kayak feels just as lightweight as its predecessor. We were impressed by the ample storage space in this kayak. It easily accommodated our ice chest, camera gear, and other essentials, allowing us to bring everything we needed for our trips. The generous leg space, combined with the comfortable camping chair-style seat, made the Argo 100XR one of the most comfortable kayaks we have ever owned. However, individuals with smaller frames might find it slightly roomy. While the cockpit width is the same as the Mustang, the extra inch in length made it a little harder to reach items on the cockpit table for our smaller companion.
The Argo 100XR handled exceptionally well on the water, providing stability even in busier areas with heavy boat and wave runner traffic. This kayak truly exceeded our expectations, proving to be a reliable and thrilling companion for every adventure.
